Indians are ardent cricket fan,nothing bad in it.What pains us the business and money minting by the sponsors,who are mostly celebrities in films,industry,land dealing,construction and surprisingly politicians.Trillions of rupees are at stake.Where does this money come from ? More than half of the populatiion is understarved and still there are sizeable number of people who spend rupees ten thousand or more a day just for fun,party or a ticket.There are two distinct contradictory Indias one of poverty and other of affluence.Players are drowning in money,they are slaves of the sponsors.They had never seen or even dreamed such a huge amount in their lives or in their forefathers.Which is a real India ? Media is partly responsible since it gives undue publicity to the game,neglecting or sidetracking the burning issues like transport,law and order,corruption among the people at high ploaces.Other games like hockey,football,volley ball are sidetracked and Indian games are nonexistant for them.Time has come to rethink about this game.There are far more vital issues than cricket.
